Hasn’t it been a GIANT week here at Eagles HQ!
I’ll kick off today’s blog with a massive virtual high-five for everyone that my mate JK is doing well after getting a bit of a knock to the elbow during last weekend’s win over the Giants.
He’s been named in Sunday’s team to take on the Power at Adelaide Oval, which is a great inclusion in what’s sure to be a huge game for the club. Let’s hope JK can kick a bag and continue at the top of the Coleman Medal leader board!
I had a fantastic time myself earlier in the week when the club held the annual Rick’s Rascals event for our toddler members at Domain Stadium on Tuesday morning.
The theme for the day was ‘Teddy Bear’s Picnic’, and I popped in to hang out with all the kids for a little while. I’ll tell you what, they are so much fun, but phew! They wore me out! I ran around giving a bunch of high fives and hugs, and posed for photos with the little tuckers. I was lucky to keep my feathers in place with all the antics!
Anyway, back to the footy. Last week’s win was a thumper! Some really exciting play from my mates Yeo and Gov. I’d say it was probably our best performance of the season so far, don’t you think? We also had a visitor of the ‘royal’ variety checking us out – and not just our mates at East Perth! That’s right – Prince Harry, who’s been in Perth, was in the stands!
I’m super jealous as that other bird, Auzzie, got a personal audience with the Prince. Now, what’s she got that I don’t? Sure, she’s a looker, but I’ve got the dance moves! If you haven’t read about their meeting, check out the article here.
Well, I’d better get going, I’ve got a flight to catch to Adelaide ahead of the weekend’s game. It’s going to be a ripper.
GO EAGLES!
Love Rick
