After a COVID-affected start to 2022, Eagles Rock My School is back up and running across schools in Western Australia.
West Coast's longest-running program - presented by Hawaiian - restarted in March, with Community and Game Development staff delivering vital messaging to students, pertaining to healthy lifestyles, respect and striving to achieve your best.
All of this was done with the assistance of West Coast's ever-engaging and mischievous mascots Rick and Rosie.
Our West Coast players have also been making their impact on the program by delivering several football sessions with students from each school.
During the sessions students have learnt the fundamentals of football before implementing them in a match simulation environment to finish.
The Eagles Rock My School team aren’t just making an impact in schools, but are also impacting way to school, with mascot Rosie involved in the 2022 National Walk Safely to School Day alongside Kensington Primary School.
This aimed to promote the benefits of healthy living, including what being active and walking to school does for the body and mind.
To say the children were excited for these visits would be an understatement. They could hardly contain their enthusiasm when meeting crowd favourites, including Rick and Rosie and a number of West Coast players.
After such a promising start to the year we thank Hawaiian for their continual support of our program and hope to involve more schools between now and the end of the year.
