For some it was about finding form for finals, for others it was a late push for selection and for others still, it was about sustaining form in the run to season’s end.

Whatever the circumstance, however, the majority of West Coast players competing in the WAFL at the weekendcontributed for their team.

Tony Notte is finding important touch in his team’s run to the finals, Will Sullivan continued his development with a solid hit-out for Perth, while Chad Fletcher maintained his good form for Subiaco.

Eric Mackenzie continued his push for a late season recall while Jamie McNamara did like-wise with a strong four-quarter effort for East Fremantle.

Peel v Perth

Ashley Arrowsmith: In a side well-beaten Ash tried hard for his team, kicked two of his side’s six goals which was a good result.

Jordan Jones: Started at half-forward before switching back to defence where he appeared better suited. Showed good courage and run on a number of occasions, although his ball use could have been better.

Will Sullivan: Will’s run and second efforts in the ruck were again good. A very solid four-quarter performance with 11 disposals and 33 hit outs.

Ashley Smith: Used in a tagging role against Howlett to start and did a good job. When he was rotated back onto the ground he did not return to the role. Ash did spend some time as a half-forward before moving back to defence, where he used the ball well. Had 19 possessions.

Subiaco v East Perth

Chad Fletcher: Chad played on-ball, his opponents were Travers and Lee. Chad was BOG, with his hard running through lines, his dominance around stoppages, centre taps and boundary taps all features. His decision making and disposal with the ball by hand or foot was also a highlight. Chad was a great contributor to his team's win.

Tyson Stenglein: After playing on-ball for the first three quarters, he finished at half-back. His opponent all game was Humm. Stenglein’s hard ball gets were very noticeable, his one percenters were high and he was a good contributor for his team.

Claremont v West Perth

Lewis Stevenson: Spent all game at half-forward and on ball but struggled to have an impact.

Eric Mackenzie: Played at full-back, his body work in general contests was excellent and his disposal by foot effective on most occasions.

Mark Seaby: A solid game in a team well beaten. Seaby rucked well and his second efforts were strong. Only took two marks for the game which was unusual. Picked up 21 possessions.

Swan Districts v East Fremantle

Tony Notte: Played deep in the forward line and worked well, finding space and taking some good marks on the lead. He kicked a good snap goal in the second quarter and kicked three points from set shots into breeze in the third.  Steady game, had five tackles in addition to eight marks and 13 possessions.

Adam Hunter: Hunter played half-forward with a short time in the second quarter at centre half-back. Struggled to get into the game, but still worked hard and was quite physical in contests.

Ashley Hansen: Good work rate playing at full-forward against McCarrey, kicked three goals as well as points from two snaps and a set shot. Set up goals with some constructive handball. Took five of his nine marks in the third quarter working well leading up ground.

Jamie McNamara: Played in midfield where he was at his best in first half during which he racked up 17 of his 25 possessions.  His work rate over four quarters was good and helped to keep East Fremantle in the game during the second term. He was tagged heavily by Embley in the second half.  Did well in what was a ‘hard day’ at the office! One of his team’s best.
