Exciting midfielder Mikayla Bowen has been named in the AFL Players’ Association’s 22Under22 squad for the second year running after another promising season in the blue and gold.
Playing her role on the wing – and being used as a utility across the ground when needed – Bowen received her second 22under22 accolade after finishing the year with an average of 12.6 disposals and 5.8 tackles per match.
In her third year in the competition, Bowen also averaged five contested possessions and two marks a game, as well as booting two majors in the earlier half of the season.
The hard running youngster has played every game since her debut in West Coast’s inaugural side in 2020 and has had a career-best season in the blue and gold after further developing her craft in the Eagles’ engine room.
Bowen continues to build on her form with every match and is earmarked as one of the competition’s most exciting midfielders, as she continues to develop alongside the likes of skipper Emma Swanson and vice-captain Dana Hooker.
