The magnanimous reaction by East Fremantle in seeing three of their players listed by the West Coast Eagles during the supplemental selection period has been greatly appreciated.

The Eagles have signed ruckman forward Hugh Dixon, ruckman Luke Strnadica and midfielder Tom Joyce after being decimated by a run of serious pre-season injuries.

Clearly losing players of that quality on the eve of the WAFL season is far from ideal but the Sharks have been gracious in allowing all three to take an opportunity at a second chance of AFL success.

Both Dixon and Strnadica have previously been listed by Fremantle while Joyce returned this year after three seasons with Brisbane.

In addition to the three Sharks players, the Eagles today also elevated former Richmond wingman Patrick Naish who played nine games with the Tigers, including six in 2021.
