West Coast Eagles defender Alex Witherden has accepted a one-match sanction offered by the Match Review Officer for rough conduct on Fremantle midfielder Andrew Brayshaw in Sunday’s AAMI Community Series match.

Witherden collided with Brayshaw at the start of the third quarter at Optus Stadium, with the incident assessed as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

The MRO classified the incident as a one-match sanction as a first offence, which Witherden accepted with an early plea - ruling him out of round one against Gold Coast.
