Exciting young forward Ryan Maric was snared by West Coast with pick no. 1 in the 2023 Mid-Season Rookie Draft. The skilful teenager has quickly proved himself at the elite level, debuting in the senior side just 10 days after being drafted, kicking a goal with his first touch in the AFL. Maric’s decision making and kicking strengths have transferred well from his time in the VFL, and at 193cm, he covers the ground nicely and can shift gears on the attack. He played 10 games in his first season in the blue and gold, managing nine goals, and will continue to develop into a key pillar in the Eagles’ forward line for years to come.
