Bravely battled through a toe injury for most of his second season as an Eagle, with the niggling issue restricting his trademark run and carry. Hunt still managed 20 appearances, with the highlight being a career-best 35 disposals in round 19 against St Kilda at Marvel Stadium. A shining light during a difficult season for the Eagles in 2023, Hunt more than lived up to his end of the bargain after seeking a fresh start in the west from Melbourne via unrestricted free agency. The speedster added dash and dare to Adam Simpson’s side playing on a wing and across half-back, appearing in all 23 games and finishing fourth in the John Worsfold Medal. He was unlucky to miss out on the Demons’ 2021 premiership due to an ankle injury.
