The 2024 season will be remembered as a breakout campaign for the third-year key forward, who added back-up ruck duties to his game and kicked 16 goals from 18 matches to stamp himself as a player to watch for the future. Williams, who only turned 21 in December, impressed with his forward craft which allowed the Eagles to fit him in alongside Jake Waterman, Oscar Allen and Jack Darling and was a more-than-handy second ruck option. He twice kicked three goals in matches against Essendon and St Kilda to establish himself as a legitimate goalkicking threat and has time on his side to continuing developing in a youthful line-up under new senior coach Andrew McQualter.
