After 39 games in six seasons on the list, 2025 looms as a critical year for Edwards to nail down a key position spot in defence. The 200cm big man has spent time developing alongside John Worsfold medallist Jeremy McGovern and Tom Barrass, and following the latter’s departure an opportunity has presented for Edwards to establish himself. The 24-year-old has dealt with his share of injury setbacks over recent years but played 17 matches split across the AFL and WAFL Eagles sides in 2024, building confidence in his body to get through a long season. Signed a three-year contract extension to remain until at least the end of 2027 late last season.
