While Collingwood had the better of the midfield contest, indefatigable West Coast wingman Andrew Gaff was one of the Eagles who maintained his career standards.
On the day that his close mate Shannon Hurn played his 300th match, Gaff worked consistently hard throughout the contest, with 33 possessions – 16 kicks and 17 handballs. He also led the score involvements with six.
He was again the link between defence and attack and was running as hard and strong at the end of the game as he was the start.
There were few Eagles players who could boast personal victory in their individual contest, but Gaff was solid throughout.
