Many West Australians don’t know where their next meal will come from, or how they will be able to feed their families.
The COVID-19 pandemic has only increased the need for food assistance, with 28% of Australians now needing our help who have never experienced food insecurity before the pandemic.
With the impact of the pandemic and recent natural disasters still being felt across Western Australia we know that the demand for food assistance will continue to grow.
Foodbank WA continues to do an amazing job supporting West Australians with food assistance. Last year, they provided more than 6.4 million meals.
That’s why we are asking you to join our Million Meal Challenge to provide one million meals for West Australians who need it.
Acting Foodbank WA CEO, Fran Ferreira explained, “We’re looking for corporate supporters who really want to make a difference and become off-field ‘game changers’ by dollar matching fundraising by West Coast Eagles' Supporters and Members.
“That way we can start #kickinggoalstogether for the #millionmealchallenge. Our Partnership and Development Manager Andrew Wilkinson is eager to hear from you as we tackle this challenge for the rest of this AFL season.”
Eagles’ midfielder Andrew Gaff is also in support of the cause.
“Join us with our Million Meals challenge, every 10 dollars provides 20 meals,” Gaff said.
“If all our members and supporters donated just 10 dollars then Foodbank WA can provide one million meals to West Aussies.”
