Fans score for Telethon
Over $40,000 was raised for Telethon and WA’s sick and injured kids
Members and supporters threw their support behind the cause and gave generously to the volunteer tin-shakers from BHP Billiton who were stationed around the ground on match day, collecting donations for Telethon.
As West Coast's principal community partner, BHP Billiton also offered to match all funds raised by their volunteers at the game.
Telethon has been an official charity partner of the club since 2008, during which time West Coast has helped raise more than $400,000 for the charity, with all proceeds going towards improving the lives of children.
Every year, the Eagles dedicate a home match to raising funds for Telethon, where the club encourages all members and fans to support this worthy cause.
The club’s Telethon ambassador, Daniel Kerr, said it was great to see so many fans get behind such a worthy cause.
“As we head into the end of the season, it’s good to see everyone remembering to give generously to causes like Telethon.”
The West Coast Eagles Football Club would like to thank all of their members and fans, as well as BHP Billiton, for making this year’s Telethon match day another resounding success.
