Where and when: Metricon Stadium. Thursday, August 27 (5.10pm AWST)
TV: Live on 7mate, Fox Footy, Kayo and the official AFL app
What it means for the Eagles: A win over the Tigers would be telling on several fronts. First, and most importantly, it would get West Coast one step closer to qualifying for the finals. Second, it would put the Eagles one and a half games clear of Richmond, who are currently placed fifth and among several clubs vying for a coveted top four. And last, it would signal to the competition that our second stint in Queensland will be markedly different from our initial stay in the Sunshine State.
The stat: Here’s another gem from Twitter stats guru @sirswampthing. In spite of taking the second most marks and contested marks of any player in the AFL since his debut in 2014, Jeremy McGovern received his first Mark of the Year nomination last week. In our humble opinion, it was worth the wait.
The match-up: Mark Hutchings v Dustin Martin
You only have to look to our last clash with Tigers to know how important Hutchings’ shutdown role can be. West Coast flew out of the gates in Round 22 last year, booting seven goals to the Tigers’ three in the opening term while Hutchings kept tabs on Martin. But when West Coast’s run-with expert was sidelined due to a hamstring injury, Martin roared back to life, amassing 35 disposals and a goal to propel his side to a thrilling six-point win. If Hutchings can keep Martin on a relatively short leash tonight it will go a long way to helping the Eagles win its ninth straight game of season 2020.

It’s a big week for: Bailey Williams
The bullocking Dandenong Stingrays product finally gets to showcase his talents on the big stage after narrowly missing out on a round one debut due to injury. Williams will play an important role at Metricon Stadium, filling the void left up forward by Oscar Allen (hip injury). He will also serve as Nic Naitanui’s back up in the ruck. The 20-year-old possesses a prodigious leap and relishes every opportunity to fly for a hanger. We cannot wait to see him debut tonight.
Big call: Andrew Gaff has averaged 29.75 disposals in our last four clashes with Richmond. We reckon he'll continue his good run of form against the Tigers and collect a game-high 34 disposals tonight.
