West Coast has settled on one change for Sunday’s RAC Derby clash with Fremantle, recalling captain Luke Shuey at the expense of emerging midfielder Brayden Ainsworth.

The two-time John Worsfold medallist will take his place in the side after overcoming a hamstring injury he occurred in round five against Sydney.

Shuey sustained the injury during the opening quarter of the bout and took no further part in the game.

However, the inspirational skipper got to work on remedying the injury while still in the Gold Coast hub and continued his good work upon returning to Perth last weekend.

Senior coach Adam Simpson said today that he expected the 2018 Norm Smith medallist to play in RAC Derby 51 should he get through tomorrow’s captain’s run without incident.

Shuey will be thrilled to take his place in the team in what is sure to be a special occasion for the Eagles.

It will be the club’s first official hitout in front of a crowd this year (albeit a hostile one) and two players will be celebrating milestones of different significance.

Josh Kennedy will play his 250th AFL game (22 Carlton, 228 West Coast) and premiership captain Shannon Hurn will join Glen Jakovich as the club’s equal second most capped player upon playing his 276th game in blue and gold.

The Eagles will also be looking to secure a record-setting 10th consecutive RAC Derby win over its purple foes.

Fans hoping to catch the game from home can tune in to Channel Seven, Fox Footy, Kayo and the Official AFL Live app from 4.30pm on Sunday.
