Border Patrol hits Broome
West Coast fans in sunny Broome are in for a good hard dose of nostalgia when inaugural captain Ross Glendinning visits the town next week.
Border Patrol, proudly supported by Toyota WA, saw Glendinning, along with past West Coast greats such as Glen Jakovich, Phil Narkle and Ashley Hansen, hit the road to various regional towns in WA.
Glendinning explains that the aim of the program is to reach West Coast fans all over the state. And in 2012, it more than met this goal, with supporters turning up on droves to meet the travelling party at each stop last year.
“Border Patrol was a huge success in 2012,” the former Brownlow medallist says.
“Fans all the way from Albany to Broome turned out to see us, have photos, kick the footy and enjoy a barbeque at Toyota dealerships all over the state.
“We also visited a number of schools with the Border Patrol program, and the reception from students was fantastic. We’re looking forward to hitting the road again for Border Patrol this year.”
Ross and his Border Patrol crew hit the road on Wednesday for the fourth leg of the 2013 program, heading north to Broome, visiting fans at the following locations:
