Rick's Footy Blog: Round Four
It’s Saturday night under lights, fresh off the back of a massive win against the Dees at the MCG… It’s the stuff dreams are made of, kids. In case you can't tell, I'm pumped.
Hope everyone is geared up and ready to go for this weekend. It’s going to be Saturday night under lights, fresh off the back of a massive win against the Dees at the MCG… It’s the stuff dreams are made of, kids. In case you can’t tell, I’m pumped.
Now let’s reflect on last week, because that was one impressive match by our boys. I must admit I was a little scared at half-time. It appeared that the Dees, who have been in struggle-town lately both on and off the field, were really fired up and looking to prove a point.
But I don’t know what Woosh said to the boys at half-time, because we came out guns blazing in the third term and even put together West Coast’s best-ever quarter.
Special mentions go to Jacky-D and JK for each booting five goals and being generally awesome, Dean Cox for being a superstar, and Callum Sinclair who put in a solid performance and booted two goals in just his second AFL game. Well done Cal!
Now let’s look ahead at Carlton. The Blues are currently winless, and I don’t know if you guys have been watching ol’ Micky Malthouse in the media this week, but he seems pretty agitated amid speculation that the Blues will return to Melbourne 0-4 after this weekend.
So he might be out to prove something with his new team. But, I have several points I wish to raise:
1. We put in a solid performance last week, and that was at the ‘G, not on our home turf. So imagine how much more powerful we’re going to be at Patersons this weekend.
2. We’ve won our last three clashes against Carlton.
3. Dean Cox had a stellar game last weekend, and Carlton are without their number one ruckman this week. So expect West Coast to dominate the centre clearances.
Basically, we got this in the bag.
Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday night, remember to cheer loud and hard for the boys.
Go Eagles!
