For much of his career Brad Sheppard has had the task of curtailing the opposition’s best small or medium sized forward.
So it was no surprise that he was assigned the challenge of curbing the influence of dangerous Lions forward Charlie Cameron, one of the best in the business.
Sheppard produced a signature performance to be the Eagles best player, holding Cameron to just one goal from five touches, winning most of the one-on-one battles while at the same time gathering 15 possessions and taking five marks.
It was another quality performance from the 181-game veteran in a defensive effort that was solid, given the volume of entries inside the forward 50 from Brisbane.
