Rugby union convert Mhicca Carter will make her AFLW debut when West Coast clashes with Gold Coast at Mineral Resources Park on Sunday.
The former Wallaroo and Rugby WA captain is one of two confirmed changes for the round six clash at the club’s home ground.
She will be joined in the starting line-up by dynamic defender Chantella Perera, who was unavailable for selection last week due to work commitments.
The club has scope to make more changes ahead of its final team announcement tomorrow, but at this stage it will be without McKenzie Dowrick and Emily Bonser for the round six fixture.
Sunday will be a momentous occasion for Carter, who left behind an international rugby career to try her hand at AFLW.
The 29-year-old has made strong progress since landing at the Eagles in August.
Originally stationed down back, Carter was recently swung forward and has been a strong performer in her Jan Cooper Cup games.
Several other Eagles are in line for a recall after being named on an extended bench, including imposing ruck Danika Pisconeri, 2019 WAFLW leading goal-kicker Tarnee Tester and athletic utility Kate Orme.
West Coast will confirm its finalised 21-player team at 1pm tomorrow.
The Eagles will take on the Suns from 2.10pm at Mineral Resources Park on Sunday.
