Two skilful forwards who have travelled contrasting roads to Mineral Resources Park are the latest additions to the West Coast Eagles playing list.
Former North Beach amateur Nic Reid and former Geelong rookie Jamaine Jones have been confirmed as the SSP (supplementary selection period) players and both now get their opportunity as rookies in 2020.
A further rookie list spot recently opened up with the recent decision for Daniel Venables to sit out the season as he deals with lingering symptoms following the very significant head knock he received in the round nine game against Melbourne last year.
Reid, 24, is a school teacher who was recruited from North Beach to the club’s WAFL Eagles team last season.
He played 15 games and kicked 23 goals, impressing the club’s recruiting and coaching staff with his all-round ability.
Jones, 21, has just completed a fortnight of training with the club where he has also impressed.
The smart left-footer made a strong impact when he played in a practice match for the WAFL Eagles against Swan Districts last Wednesday night.
