I WAS up nice and early again for a bit of a jog, breakfast and then off to visit some more schools.

We read to the schoolkids from the book I Want to be a Footballer, by Sally Carbon.

The kids loved the book which is actually written by assistant coach Michael Broadbridge's wife.

After lunch we visited an art gallery at the Port Hedland TAFE. We were shown how to do self-portraits by a group of Aboriginal ladies, which was great.

It was really good to learn about where the ladies came from and it was a very different experience and one I'll treasure for a long time.

Former Eagle Brad Smith, our school development officer, showed everyone up with a paintbrush, he's a very talented man.

The rest of us were left to look at self portraits of crooked faces. But I don't think our teachers expected too much from us.

It has been a really interesting day, but most of the boys are pretty tired.

We had a good night's sleep last night but most of the guys seemed pretty drained after last night's training session in the heat.

More shopping centre signings completed the afternoon before we flew out of Port Hedland at 5pm. It has been pretty full-on but really good fun fitting everything in and meeting the community.

The highlight has been seeing a community town we don't get to very often. They're great supporters and a key to growing our fan base.  So it was definitely a very worthwhile trip.
