Perth footy fans are in for a real treat with AFL powerhouse club Collingwood putting together a star-studded team of past greats for the very first time to take on legends from the West Coast Eagles in the annual Chris Mainwaring Legends Match for Telethon.

The game will be played under lights on Saturday, October 8, at Patersons Stadium.

It will be the fourth anniversary of this event, with previous matches attracting crowds in excess of 32,000.

This year, the match will see the OWLS (Older Wiser Larger Slower) team from West Coast pull on their boots again to line up against former Collingwood stars in the name of a great cause.

Players who have taken to the field for Chris Mainwaring in previous years include footy veterans such as Dean Kemp, Peter Matera, Brett Heady and David Wirrpanda.

Collingwood fans will get the chance to see greats such as Anthony Rocca, Damian Monkhurst and Tony Francis in action again.

More big names will be announced in coming weeks.

Entry to the game is $15 for adults, $10 for youngsters under 16 and children under six are free.

Tickets are available from any Ticketmaster outlet from 9am on Wednesday, July 27. Visit www.ticketmaster.com.au or phone 1300 135 915 to secure your tickets now. Fans purchasing online can further support Telethon  by choosing the TICKETFAST option for print-at-home tickets.
