Mature-age rookie Kane Lucas has been elevated to the senior list ahead of West Coast's first round clash with the Western Bulldogs on Saturday night.
Recruited from Carlton in the pre-season ballot last year, Lucas has impressed through the summer and particularly through the NAB series and early games at East Perth.
The 23-year-old has shown a capacity to get plenty of the football and was promoted to the senior list after Eric Mackenzie, who has undergone a knee reconstruction, was placed on the long-term injury list.
Lucas spent five years on the Carlton list and has settled in well to his new surrounds and has been so impressive he has travelled with the squad as the emergency for the season opener.
After 42 games for the Blues, the former East Fremantle product has enjoyed a return to his home State and is poised to have an impact at his new club.
