The dream match-up of Elliot Yeo locking horns with Dustin Martin did not eventuate, but there were times when the two midfield bulls went toe to toe and it was intriguing.
While Martin was arguably best afield, Yeo was probably the Eagles’ best, doing all he could to propel his team over the line.
With Andrew Gaff and Luke Shuey they tried to generate the opportunities required to create a winning score, but couldn’t quite get it done.
Yeo had 26 possessions, 18 of them contested, while also winning 15 clearances. He continues to impress with an outstanding season and will surely be on the short list of the all-Australian selectors.
