The West Coast Eagles recently showed its support for the South West Metropolitan Partnership Forum’s Our Davis Park event, which coincided with National Child Protection Week.
The Our Davis Park event is a community initiative that encourages engagement through activities, education and training for young people and children who live near Davis Park in Beaconsfield.
West Coast Eagles indigenous liaison officer Phil Narkle and schools and community coordinator James Grabski volunteered their time to coordinate several interactive football activities. Narkle and Grabski also distributed West Coast Eagles promotional giveaways to those who participated.
“This is the second year that the West Coast Eagles have supported this great initiative,” Grabski said.
“Community events like this are important to promote healthy, active lifestyles and to showcase the local support and services that are available to community members.”
Department of Communities aboriginal practice leader Stephen Loo was thankful to the West Coast Eagles Football Club for their participation in the Davis Park event and support of National Child Protection Week.
“It is greatly appreciated by the relevant departments and community service providers and more importantly the community, the young children and families surrounding Davis Park,” Loo said.
The South West Metropolitan Forum manages the Davis Working Group, who collaboratively work together to find innovative solutions to the complex social issues faced in the region.
