What’s up, my Rock-Blogger besties?
How are your school holidays going? I’m so glad the sun is out shining, it gives me plenty of time to go for an afternoon fly around Perth now that I’m no longer training for the footy season, and what a season it was.
While it didn’t end happily for us (GWS were just way too good for us on the day), it definitely ended happily for Richmond supporters! Well done the Tigers on their win over the Crows on the weekend. I’d say congratulations to the first Tiger I see, but I don’t think Tigers like Eagles all that much, and I need to stay in tip-top shape.
Now that we’re in the off-season, the players have started to take a break, but before we say farewell for a couple of months, they’ve still got their number one party of the year coming up – the 2017 John Worsfold Medal. Named after an old buddy of mine, the John Worsfold Medal (or the ‘Woosha Medal’ as I like to call it) goes to our best player from the 2017 season.
I was trying to think of who would win it this year, but I honestly don’t know! Can Luke Shuey go back-to-back? What about Gaffy, JK or Jeremy McGovern? Whatever the result, one thing we know for sure is that whoever wins will deserve it.
Now, my final bit of news is that we’ve got a cool giveaway for the first 100 rock-blogger buddies who renew their Rick’s Rookies or Eagles Rising Stars membership, or join as a member for the 2018 season. Head over to this page - http://www.westcoasteagles.com.au/sgio-eagles-zone/fun-and-competitions/free-stuff - get Mum or Dad to enter in your details and then go on through to join or renew. It’s as simple as that!
Anyway, I must be off. There’s a beach over in Cottesloe that’s got my name all over it, and I still need to make sure I put on my hat and sunscreen.
Until next time, have a super-duper time, enjoy the rest of your holidays, and remember that even though the footy season has finished, keep yelling GO EAGLES!
