Pick 7: Lucia Painter

DOB: 23/02/06

Height: 174cm

Position: Midfielder/Forward

Recruited from: Bendigo Pioneers

Draft bio: Powerful midfielder/forward who is strong overhead and possesses an elite penetrating kick. Also has high footy IQ and rarely fumbles. Was one of Victoria Country’s best players at the National Championships, winning All Australian honours after averaging 17.7 disposals (nine contested) and 6.7 tackles. Continued her dominance playing for Bendigo Pioneers in the Coates Talent League, averaging 23.9 disposals, 4.6 marks and 7.4 tackles in 11 matches to finish runner up in the competition best and fairest award and win selection in the Team of the Year. A member of the 2024 Marsh AFL National Academy.

Pick 24: Charlotte Riggs

DOB: 02/11/06

Height: 179cm

Position: Utility

Recruited from: Central District Women’s

Draft bio: The ultimate key position utility, Riggs has proven herself across all three lines with an enormous vertical leap and impressive intercepting capabilities when behind the ball. An ultimate athletic utility at 179cm tall does not come around too often, but that is certainly an apt way to describe South Australian Charlotte Riggs. Already a SANFLW premiership player from her bottom-age season and having played seniors for three years now, the versatile Riggs has predominantly turned out in defence, but also played through the ruck and up forward.

Pick 53: Lucy Boyd

DOB: 12/10/06

Height: 172cm

Position: Utility

Recruited from: South Australia Girls

Draft bio: A powerfully built intercept defender who can also play up forward with a game highlighted by her marking ability. Boyd has been a mainstay at SANFLW level over the last three seasons, overcome an injury-interrupted bottom-age campaign to return and play out a full year with the Bloods in 2024. Standing at 172cm, Boyd is that in-between height for her role which is usually a tall defender, though she can be swung forward to provide an aerial presence. The South Australian boasts some nice footy IQ and understands the game well, with her ability to get into the right positions and intercept mark at half-back or deeper one-on-one. She has worked hard on her endurance base, clocking a sub-eight minute 2km time trial at the recent State Draft Combine.

Pick 57: Kayla Dalgleish

DOB: 15/07/06

Height: 161cm

Position: Small forward

Recruited from: Dandenong Stingrays

Draft bio: An ultra-athletic small forward/midfielder, Dalgleish has a nice balance of offensive and defensive traits. There is a lot to like about Dalgleish's game, with the tenacious small forward a real vibe in attack. She has the capacity to play through midfield as well, but given her size and strength - standing at just 161cm and being a lighter-bodied player - Dalgleish will likely be best suited to play that small forward both as a lead-up target and crumber at ground level. Dalgleish has some great footy smarts and forward craft that enable her to get into ball-winning positions and once she has it, uses her superior vision to spot up targets for scoring opportunities.
