West Coast Eagles midfielder and RSPCA WA ambassador Elliot Yeo has made special deliveries to some less fortunate animals in the lead up to Christmas.
Yeo wrapped and delivered some goodies to the RSPCA WA occupants, who unfortunately won’t have a home or family to spend the holiday season with this year.
RSPCA WA is expecting an influx of animals to come into their care over the Christmas period, stretching the resources of the animal welfare charity.
Spokesperson Lou Rowe said they rely on generous donations for 80 percent of costs to care for the sick, injured and abandoned animals they receive.
“It’s been a tough year for us at RSPCA WA and we are desperate for Guardian Angels like Elliot to step up and help an innocent animal this Christmas,” she said.
“We know not all the animals in our care will find a home for Christmas but we’re asking for people to please donate to ensure we can give them the treatment and care they need – as well as a little something special on Christmas morning.”
Yeo said it was sad to think of the poor animals who won’t have families to wake up to like his own pups Winston and Pippa.
“Whether they are here because they just haven’t found their perfect match yet or they are still undergoing vet care and have to stay here over the Christmas period, I want them all to at least have a present on the day,” he said.
“The RSPCA is preparing for the inevitable influx of animals as it begins to heat up and requires all the extra support it can get.
“You can help by becoming a Guardian Angel to an animal in need this Christmas.
“Your donation will help to cover the costs of vet care for the expected 400 animals to come into care here over the festive period.”
