West Coast Eagles defender Tom Cole will resume ball-handling drills following the Christmas break after fracturing his finger at training.

Cole underwent surgery on Wednesday and will be on light duties for the next week before ramping up his fitness work.

Young midfielders Harley Reid and Harvey Johnston are also currently in modified training programs.

“Tom’s surgery went well and he will be focusing on his cardio program before resuming contact training,” General Manager Football Gavin Bell said today.

“Harley has disrupted some scar tissue from an old lower-leg injury, so he will be in an off-legs program for the next few sessions.

“Harvey injured his elbow recently and is being managed from contact training, but he is completing his aerobic program with typical enthusiasm.”
