Reigning Club Champion Ben Green will be competing in his second national carnival whilst sharpshooter Paul Whitehurst will be donning the black and gold WA colours for the very first time.

After a fantastic performance in the 2023 carnival being awarded the Best and Fairest for the WA squad, Green has taken another leap in just his second year playing wheelchair football being named captain of the state team.

Both players have had tremendous seasons so far as part of this year’s WA Wheelchair Football League (WAWFL), with Green finishing the season third in total goals scored with 35 whilst Whitehurst sits right behind him at fourth on 29.

The WAWFL will have a bye this weekend whilst the national carnival takes place before returning for the finals on December 1, as the West Coast Eagles finished the regular season as minor premiers in just the second year in the competition.

The two Eagles players will compete alongside opposition players from the WAWFL competition as the WA team looks to go one better than their 2023 performance finishing runners-up in Division 1.
