Harley Reid is in the running for another AFL award – this time the 2024 NAB AFL Goal of the Year - following his incredible solo effort against Melbourne.
Reid has already collected the AFL Players’ Association’s Best First Year Player gong this post-season and is a finalist for the year’s best goal.
Halfway through the first quarter in round 10, the teenage sensation roved a centre clearance, took three bounces and stormed inside 50 before splitting the middle of the big sticks for an unforgettable major.
It brought the Optus Stadium crowd to their feet and helped inspire the Eagles’ third triumph to that point of the campaign.
The 2024 NAB AFL Goal of the Year winner will receive $50,000 and NAB will donate a further $10,000 to the winning players’ junior football club – in Reid’s case the Tongala Junior Football Club.
A combination of votes by the AFL All-Australian selection panel and the public will decide the winner, to be announced at the Brownlow Medal count on the Monday of Grand Final week (September 23).
Fans can now vote for their favourite goal at www.afl.com.au/goal-of-the-year.
Everyone who votes is in with a chance to win $5,000 thanks to NAB.
