Exciting new recruits Georgie Cleaver, Tess Lyons and Verity Simmons will don the blue and gold on Friday night, debuting in round one of the 2024 AFLW season against Richmond at Mineral Resources Park.

Dual-sport athlete Cleaver was selected by the Eagles with pick No. 39 in the 2023 AFLW Draft, and has been successfully juggling her time between football and netball since her arrival to the nest.

At 181cm, the 18-year-old has the size, athleticism and physicality to play in the ruck and as a key forward and is both strong in the air and clean below her knees.

Lyons, captain of the Subiaco Lions, delivered an outstanding 2024 WAFLW season in the ruck, averaging 20.5 hitouts and a career-high 10.3 disposals from 10 games.

The 184cm talent impresses with her follow-up work around the contest, and her movement and agility makes her a standout around the ground.

Former West Coast Fever netball star Simmons was signed by the Eagles on a rookie contract, and has shown great promise since arriving at the club in the off-season.

The athletic and speedy 33-year-old spent time in the WAFLW for Subiaco, and impressed in both pre-season matches against Fremantle and St Kilda.
