Retiring star Andrew Gaff is poised to start in his 280th and final game for the West Coast Eagles against Carlton at Optus Stadium on Sunday.
Gaff has been named in his customary wing position as the curtain falls on his decorated career. While that is not a definitive situation it is a strong indicator he will start in his farewell match.
Developing key defender Harry Edwards has also been selected in the starting 18, at full-back, as he returns after emerging from concussions protocols.
He has been added to a 26-man squad which will be refined tomorrow afternoon when the five-man bench and three emergencies are finalised.
Edwards has been named with forward-midfielder Jack Petruccelle and half-forward Jack Hutchinson on the extended bench. At this stage no one has been omitted from the team that defeated North Melbourne in Hobart last week.
Unfortunately, highly-regarded defender Tom Barrass has not been given the medical green light to resume. After a concussion against Fremantle he has also battled a back/hamstring complaint.
