Highly decorated West Coast Eagles defender Jeremy McGovern has been in some of the best form of his career and he continued that trend against Essendon.

McGovern was supreme in the air, taking five marks and intercepting a number of Bombers forward thrusts.

He also gained a whopping 661 metres with ball in hand, often taking responsibility for the point kick in which is such an important facet of the game.

His partner in crime in the back half, Tom Barrass, also had a strong presence in the air as he raked in a team high 11 marks, including nine intercept grabs. They were responsible for the majority of the team’s 55 intercepts.
