Harley Reid, just the third No.1 draft selection in West Coast Eagles history, will make his highly anticipated debut in the club's season-opener against Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.
The strongly-built 18-year-old is part of an exciting crop of young players and is the first of the 2023 draftees to enter senior ranks.
He will, however, have at least one other club debutant by his side.
Tyler Brockman, drafted by Hawthorn in 2021, played 26 matches for the Hawks before being enticed back to his home State during last year’s trade period.
And Next Generation Academy product Tyrell Dewar has also been named on an extended interchange and is in the frame for a remarkable debut.
Silky skilled, Brockman can play forward and through the midfield. He has overcome a knee ailment late in pre-season to be ready for the first game of the season.
Dewar has enjoyed an outstanding pre-season and has built a strong case for senior selection.
Reid had been touted as the standout player in his draft year and the Eagles resisted overtures from several clubs hoping they would do a deal for the coveted No.1 selection which would give them access to the Vic Country star.
From Tongala in rural Victoria he played for six different teams last year but has settled in Perth and is one of 22 players on the Eagles list who are under 22 years of age.
