Fans again flocked to training, watching on from the sidelines as a solid number of players were put through their pre-season paces.

On his third day at the helm, new Eagles CEO Don Pyke joined the congregation to watch on as the team ran through their drills. A dual West Coast premiership player in his own right, Pyke was in high spirits as he observed from the boundary, engaging with players, coaches and staff.

Archer Reid returns to running

In positive signs for young recruit Archer Reid, light running and leg work exercises were combined into his program for today’s session. Recovering from a knee injury, and seen in a brace only days ago, it suggests Reid is on the right track.

Fresh faces

Naitanui Academy product Tore` Nelson and Bailey Banfield, son of premiership Eagle Drew, were two new faces on the track on Wednesday, joining the senior squad and participating in the on-field action. The teenage duo looked to relish in their opportunity to train with the team.

It’s no surprise that Harley Reid’s signature is still the most sought-after amongst Eagles fans. Supporters of all ages continue to rally along the fence line, beelining for the No. 1 draft pick, hopeful for an autograph, a selfie or quick ‘hello’. Multiple youngsters were calling out to Reid during the training session, and their day was made when he gave them a cheeky wave behind play. Reid put on a show with some fancy soccer-style footwork and continues to impress with his slick skills and smooth ball movement.

Rain, hail or shine

The heat and humidity won’t keep Eagles’ fans away from seeing their favourite players up close and personal during the pre-season. Persisting with the popular school holiday pastime, hundreds of the West Coast faithful once again made their way to Wednesday’s open training session, despite the weather conditions being less than ideal.
