Draft bio:

Jess Rentsch is an exciting young midfielder with outstanding athleticism and leadership. The GWV Rebels skipper overcame a serious leg injury last year to build form in 2023 and finish off with her best performance in the final round of the Talent League Girls season. Rentsch is a penetrating kick by foot, with explosive speed off the mark and strong ability to take the ball at top speed without breaking stride. Her run and carry is eye-catching and with ball-in hand, she can build up metres gained to open up the opposition on transition. With her strength, ability to play inside, outside or half-back, Rentsch has plenty of upside that will hold her in good stead for the elite level.

Height: 169cm

Position: Midfielder

Recruited from: Calder Cannons

Draft bio:

Kayley Kavanagh impressed this year with an incredibly consistent season with both the Calder Cannons and Vic Metro. Kavanagh started the year as a standard ball-winning inside midfielder, but added to her game throughout 2023 to finish the year as Vic Metro’s MVP and an All-Australian. Despite her inside game being one of her main strengths, her outside game came a long way in 2023 and showed what she can be capable of at the next level. She is a reliable contributor with her production, defensive pressure and clean hands and her eagerness to improve makes her an exciting pickup with plenty of upside.
