Scans have revealed mixed results for two West Coast Eagles defenders, suffering from injuries sustained in round eight against Essendon.
Jess Sedunary went back with the flight of the ball in the first quarter of the game, copping heavy contact to her back from the knee of Essendon’s Paige Scott, resulting in Sedunary being carried from the ground in a significant amount of pain.
“With Jess, scans have cleared her of any structural damage from a big hit against Essendon,” AFLW Head of High Performance Wes Salisbury said.
“She will resume training this week and will look to be available for selection.”
Fellow defender Beth Schilling received a knock to her knee in the first quarter, and scans have revealed the injury is more severe than initially thought.
“With Beth, scans have shown a PCL sprain in her knee,” Salisbury said.
“She will resume running this week and we will monitor her progress throughout the week.”
