Potential first-gamer Mackenzie Webb is among three inclusions into the West Coast Eagles’ extended squad ahead of Sunday’s trip to face Essendon at iconic Windy Hill.
Webb was signed by the Eagles late in pre-season as an injury replacement player for Krstel Petrevski (ankle) and the Claremont product has been close to a debut.
The 19-year-old is joined by fellow inclusions Mikayla Western and Abbygail Bushby on the extended interchange bench for the round eight clash in Melbourne.
West Coast will trim the 24-player squad to a final 21 to take on the in-form Bombers at 2pm AWST on Friday.
The Eagles defeated Essendon during a practice match at Mineral Resources Park during pre-season but the teams’ seasons have followed different paths since.
The Bombers sit fifth on the ladder with five wins from seven matches and are aiming to sew up a finals berth after winning three of their past four starts.
West Coast is striving for a second victory for the campaign and coming off a tough 70-point loss to reigning premier Narrm on Sunday.
Bouncedown for the Windy Hill clash is set for 5.05pm local time (2.05pm AWST) on Sunday.
