Where and when: Henson Park, Sunday, September 24, 1:05pm (11:05am WST)

TV: Live on 7Mate, Fox Footy, Kayo and the AFL Live Official app.

Last time we met: This game will be the first time the Eagles have played Sydney since the Swans entered the competition in 2022.

What it means for the Eagles: West Coast come into this game on the back of a 53-point loss to Carlton and will be looking to bounce back in a big way.  The Eagles have not had the start to the season they would have hoped and will be desperate to turn their season around and get the four points this week against Sydney on the road. This is Sydney’s second season in the League, having only been granted entry last season, and the Eagles will be aiming to get their first victory against the less-experienced Swans, who notched their first-ever win in round one against crosstown rivals GWS.

The stat: In a head-to-head comparison, West Coast are averaging more disposals (205.3), marks (34), tackles (73.7) and kicks (130.7) than Sydney so far this season.

Oppo in focus: Sydney’s Laura Gardiner put on an outstanding display in a losing side last weekend against Brisbane, finishing with a league-high 41 disposals, including 22 kicks and 19 handballs, five marks and nine tackles. She made her presence felt all around the ground, with a league-high 622 metres gained and West Coast will be looking to reduce her impact around the contest this week.

It’s a big week for: The Eagles mids

It’s another big week for the West Coast midfielders this week. The Swans have a strong core midfield group, they have dominant rucks and their forwards have been productive. The Eagles will be tested through the middle part of the ground, and it will be a contest that will likely have a vast impact on the outcome of the game.

Big call: Amy Franklin will kick a career-high three goals on Sunday against Sydney.
