In positive news for West Coast, two Eagles avoided serious injuries in Sunday’s game against Carlton, while one youngster enters concussion protocols.

Emerging defender Charlie Thomas suffered a finger injury in the second quarter but played out the remainder of the game.

“Charlie had a dislocated finger,” Salisbury said.

“It was relocated, and she’s gone for scans, but we expect her to be available to play this weekend.”

Evie Gooch was helped from the ground in the second quarter with a knee complaint, while Emily Elkington was withdrawn from the game late in the third term due to concussion.

“Gooch got caught slightly awkwardly in a tackle with her knee,” Salisbury said.

“She was assessed on the sidelines and cleared to return to play.

“Emily was unfortunately removed from the game with concussion and will enter concussion protocols.”

Shanae Davison looks set to be available for selection for this weekend’s game, after dislocating her shoulder in round two, while Eleanor Hartill continues to recover from a concussion.

“With Shanae, she’s progressing really well through her shoulder rehab,” Salisbury said.

“She’ll be a test through main training this week and will be up for selection if she gets through it.

“Eleanor is going really well again through her concussion protocols, taking it a little bit slower with her this time around, and she’s travelling really well.”
