The passion and commitment of the West Coast Eagles faithful was again underpinned when the AFL today released its club membership ladder.
The Eagles, despite finishing at the foot of the premiership table with three wins, finished second in terms of memberships – just behind Collingwood.
The Magpies topped the count with an official tally of 106,470 members, while the Eagles finished with 103,275 and Richmond was third (101,349).
“The support from our membership base has been remarkable,” said Chief Executive Officer Trevor Nisbett.
“It is the fourth successive year that we have broken the 100,000 barrier and we are so proud of our members for sticking with us.
“We know it has been a tough couple of years for our member and fanbase (approx. 930,000*) and that is what drives us to improve as quickly as we can.”
