Star midfielder Elliot Yeo is on the cusp of a return to senior football after being named on an extended interchange bench for Sunday’s clash with North Melbourne at Optus Stadium.
Yeo has missed the last four games with a hip injury but has been named on an eight-man bench. The composition of the interchange players will be finalised tomorrow afternoon at 3pm AWST.
Young midfielder Luke Edwards is a confirmed inclusion for his first AFL game in five weeks, while defender Josh Rotham, wingman Greg Clark and ruckman Callum Jamieson have been added to the extended bench with Yeo as possibly returning to senior action.
Unfortunately, neither of the club’s senior key defenders Jeremy McGovern or Tom Barrass could be considered for selection. McGovern is not yet symptom free from a delayed concussion while Barrass is still sore following a heavy fall in the same game against Richmond two weeks ago.
Further investigation of Barrass' injury has revealed a compressed fracture in his back which is expected to sideline him for the rest of the season.
Out of the team that lost to Carlton last Saturday are captain Luke Shuey (hamstring) and forward Samo Petrevski-Seton (suspended).
