Walking to school is a simple exercise but an important one which the West Coast Eagles have recently supported for local primary schools.

For the second year running the club has joined the initiative which aims to raise awareness of the positive impact of walking to and from school.

Rick and Rosie made an appearance at Lathlain Primary School and Kensington Primary School, drawing big crowds of students before they started their school day.

West Coast Eagles Schools and Football Manager Bradd Dalziell praised all involved in organising the positive and engaging initiative.

“Walking to and from school is a simple and easy way for our kids to receive some fantastic health benefits that not only positively impact our physical wellbeing but also help improve our mental wellbeing as well,” Dalziell said.

“Children who walk to school not only develop their understanding of vital road rules but also benefit from the significant increase in their own physical, mental and social health through regular walking habits at an early age.”

“Teaching kids healthy habits is important at a young age and walking to school is one of these.”

“All involved have done a fantastic job in setting up the day at both schools and the West Coast Eagles are so glad to be supporting active lifestyles for youth.”
