They share three premiership medallions, two John Worsfold Medals, three All-Australian gongs and numerous other accolades, and now a group of West Coast Eagles stars are in the running to be named in the AFLPA’s 22Under22 Team of the Decade.
Flag-winning trio Elliot Yeo, Jack Darling and Liam Ryan, plus emerging young gun Oscar Allen, are nominated for the honorary team after being picked in the yearly side during their careers in blue and gold.
And pair of recruits, Alex Witherden and Jayden Hunt, have also been nominated after being selected in the yearly 22Under22 side at their previous clubs Brisbane and Melbourne, respectively.
West Coast Eagles fans hold the power to vote their heroes into the Team of the Decade at vote.22under22.com.au
Voting opens on February 20 and runs until March 1. The final team will be announced on March 9 via the AFL Players’ Association’s social media channels.
The fan whose team most closely matches the final team wins a custom 22Under22 Team of the Decade jumper and a $250 Prezzee voucher, thanks to Snaffle.
Yeo looms as a leading contender after winning back-to-back Club Champions in 2017 and '18, plus two All-Australian blazers and a Glendinning-Allan Medal for best afield in an RAC Derby in 2018.
Darling, an All-Australian in 2019, is another strong candidate after winning four club leading goalkicker awards, while Ryan was All-Australian in 2020 and took the AFL Mark of the Year in 2019 for an incredible hanger over Melbourne giant Max Gawn.
Allen might only be 59 games into his blossoming career, but already the blond youngster has left a big impression as the Eagles’ Emerging Talent winner (2019) and Chris Mainwaring medallist (2022).
