In their final game for 2022, the Naitanui Academy 15-year-old boys finished the year on a strong note winning their away derby hosted at Cockburn’s Legacy Oval on Friday 28th October.
In windy conditions West Coast were able to control the game from the onset showing strong emphasis on work rate allowing them to gain field position.
Dominance was shown in the midfield with the group leading the charge early, hunting for the footy and running hard both ways.
Under the guidance of forwards coach Sam Rotham, the eagles capitalised on scoring opportunities sealing them a comfortable win over Fremantle.
The team was made up of 22 Next Generation Academy players including a strong contingent of those players making the long trip from Kalgoorlie.
“The boys represented the club in a fantastic way and had a really strong performance which was terrific,” said Naitanui Academy Manager Chris Brown.
“A lot of these boys will now move into the WAFL future program over the summer so hopefully the work they’ve done this year helps push their development towards elite WA footy.
“I would like to thank BHP, Wade Spilcker, Roger Hayden and Fremantle for hosting the game.”
