Momentarily it appeared as though the West Coast Eagles could select an unchanged team for the first time in more than two years, but that did not come to fruition at match committee this afternoon.

As the club’s brains trust finalised the line-up for Sunday’s clash with St Kilda at Optus Stadium they elected to make at least one change.

Defender Josh Rotham has been elevated after another strong display for the WAFL Eagles last Saturday, with young ruckman-forward Callum Jamieson squeezed out at this stage.

Jamieson may get a reprieve as he is one of the four emergencies, with utility player Samo Petrevski-Seton and midfielders Greg Clark and Connor West.

One member of that quartet will be deployed as the medical substitute, the identity of the man in question to be revealed an hour before bouncedown.

Had the Eagles retained the same combination that played against Hawthorn last Sunday it would have been the first time that had occurred since rounds six and seven in 2020 when the teams to play Adelaide and Fremantle were identical.
