Eagles speedster Lewis Jetta says he’s ready to push his case for selection after getting through limited minutes at East Perth unscathed at the weekend.
Jetta suffered glute soreness throughout the week and couldn't train until Friday, leaving him unable for selection at AFL level.
He could however play game time at WAFL level, providing scans on the injury came back positive. Once scans revealed no significant damage, Jetta was released by Eagles medical staff to play limited minutes at East Perth.
The 26-year-old told the West Australian he was willing to put in the hard yards to feature in West Coast’s best 22 for the club’s upcoming battle with Richmond.
“I’m probably the fittest I’ve been in my career,” Jetta said.
“Injuries, I hate them, but that’s footy. I was just lucky enough it healed pretty quickly for me to play a game this week.”
“My form the last two games wasn’t so great and I’d be the first one to put my hand up. I was looking to make amends this week, but the glute got a bit sore.
“I’ll treat my body right and just push for selection on the training track. It’s going to be hard finding spots. We’re all pretty healthy.”
