Draft bio: The strong-bodied, goalkicking midfielder ticks plenty of boxes for AFL recruiters and was a standout choice for West Coast at pick No.1 in the mid-season rookie draft after dominating a Young Guns v Vic Metro match last month. Culley booted four first-half goals and finished with 22 disposals to put his name up in lights, having been overlooked in last year’s drafts. The dreadlocked 19-year-old amassed 49 disposals and kicked four goals in the opening two NAB League matches this year before a minor shoulder setback sidelined him briefly. Culley has worked hard on building his fitness and body to a point where he could make an impact for West Coast in the second half of the season.
