The West Coast Eagles' gift to Greater Western Sydney is a First Nations shield designed by Arizona Galbraith, a Yuat Nyungar and Badimaya Woman from Miling Western Australia.
Both Yuat country is around Moora and surrounding areas span out to the coast, with Badimaya traditionally spoken across a large region spanning Lake Moore, Ninghan Station, Paynes Find and Dalwallinu in
the south, to Mount Magnet, Wynyangoo Station and Kirkalocka Station in the north.
Galbraith grew up in Miling on Yuat Country and is currently studying a
pathway that will lead her into a Bachelor of Nursing in Western Australia on Whadjuk Noongar Country.
The shield designed by Galbraith is based around the two teams competing against each other, with the First Nations players in the center and the other teammates standing in support.
Galbraith has incorporated the colours of both teams into the design with the blue representing West Coast and the orange representing the Giants.
